I’m smiling again
Standing squinting skyward
The sun’s glimmer draws my attention higher
I take in a deeper breath
No longer feeling out of my depth
My heavy spirit is elevated
And congested mind stimulated
I seek out parallel groups of cloud
The horizon’s artistry has me wowed
Crisp sea salt air filling my lungs
Soft sand beneath my feet lose like crumbs
A gentle breeze whips through my light hair
I’m smiling again… and continue to stare.
